Students who enroll in the music theory lab will complete one level of the theory sequence over the course of the semester. This in-person class is open to students who are completing Music Theory Levels 1-10.

Class meetings include group activities, which may include creative projects, performing rhythms, sight reading music, and listening exercises. Students also complete individualized lessons and assignments based on their progress in the music theory sequence.

Students should bring a pencil, folder, and laptop computer (or Chromebook) to each class meeting.

Please note: Students should complete the free online placement test to determine placement beyond Level 1. After completing the test, you will receive a class recommendation and registration link from the Department Chair.

For a complete description of the skills taught in each music theory level, please see the Music Theory Syllabus.
