Athena Coding - Olympic Chess

Learn chess with Athena! We have designed a high-energy, stimulating approach to chess for all ages and skill levels. Students spend much of their time playing with each other and the instructor. Throughout the course we have question and answer sessions on specific topics, challenging students with exercises and puzzles. Beginners learn piece types, movements, positioning, castling, and basic strategy, while advanced students learn openings (Scotch game, Queen's Gambit, London System) and defenses, pins, forks, skewers, middle, and endgame strategy and tactics, and Chess variants (Chess 960, Atomic Chess). Each class ends in a tournament where the winner takes home a trophy!
