Description

Celebrate the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse
by being the fastest puzzlers at Lakeside!

Twenty teams of up to four (4) people each will have 120 minutes
to complete a 500-piece puzzle.

First to finish wins! Prizes will be awarded!
Registration is required.

HOW IT WORKS:
  1. Piece together a team of up to four (4) people.
  2. Create a fitting team name.
  3. One registration per team; meaning, DO NOT register individually. Your team captain registers for the team online. $40/team, space is limited to 20 teams, so register early.
  4. The team captain will be the primary contact for the event.
  5. Registration will close 24 hours before the event, or when registration is full. If you need to cancel your registration, email drobinson@lakesideohio.com .
  6. On the day of the event, arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in and get last-minute instructions.

EVENT DETAILS:
  • Each team receives the same 500-piece puzzle. No one gets to see the puzzle until the timer begins.
  • The goal is to be the team that finishes the puzzle in the shortest amount of time.
  • The puzzle will be face down on the table. No puzzler will touch or turn over the puzzle box until the host starts the competition timer and says, “go,” or the team will be disqualified.
  • Each team can bring two trays (each no bigger than a large cookie sheet) to help them organize their puzzle pieces. No extra lighting or printed/digital puzzle templates will be allowed.
  • Once complete, the team must yell for a judge to check their time and confirm their finished work.
  • If no team is finished at the 120-minute mark, the winning team will be the one with fewest remaining loose pieces. (Groups of two or more assembled pieces will count as one piece.)
  • In the event of a tie, teams will get an additional five minutes to work on the puzzle.

AFTER THE EVENT:
After the event, the puzzle used in the competition is the property of its team members..
Lakeside Association reserves the right to post pictures and videos from the event as well as share your social media posts about it. (We encourage you to post and tag us!) #LakesideOH
