Welcome to Medicare

Will you be eligible for Medicare in the near future? Do you know your options for receiving Medicare benefits? Do you want to better understand how Medicare works with other health insurance options? A two-hour Welcome to Medicare seminar is offered monthly by Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselors which provides an overview of traditional Medicare benefits (Parts A and Part B, prescription drug plans (Part D) and Medicare supplements), as well as the growing array of Medicare Advantage plans.

The Senior Health Insurance Information Program, is a service of the State of Iowa. SHIIP counselors are trained by the state and do not sell or promote any insurance companies, policies, or agents. The Iowa City Senior Center is a local sponsor for SHIIP in Johnson County.
