Description

Major League Tee ball is for kids ages 5-6 who are familiar with the game of baseball/softball. Coaches will throw under or overhand to players. After three pitches, the child will hit off a tee. Every player will be allowed to hit and play in the field every inning. Program will consist of 7 practices and 3 games. Team rosters will be limited at each location. -NO practices or games the week of July 4.

Program is Parent-Coached.

Notes

Volunteer Coaches: The IC Parks & Rec tee-ball program is parent coached. Teams may be cancelled and refunded if a coach is not available. Coaching is fun and rewarding. No experience is required, just a desire to see kids have fun. For more information contact jeff-sears@iowa-city.org


Communication: All communication from the IC Parks & Rec will be done via email listed on child's activenet account. To update email address contact IC Parks & Rec Customer Service Attendants at 356-5100.


Weather Cancellations: All cancellations will be posted by 4 pm. Practices and games may be cancelled due to wet fields. Cancellations will be posted under "Rec Division TBall" extension #26 on the IC Parks and Rec rainoutline, www.icgov.org/pr click on event cancellation located on the right side. Note: Disregard any cancellation from sport complexes. Tee Ball is located in the parks.


Practice Times: Participants should report to the practice time and day registered for. Participants will NOT be notified prior to the start of the season. Parents are encouraged to verify receipt for accuracy.


Schedules, Game schedules will be posted on the Youth Sports Info page at www.icgov.org/youthsportsinfo .


Water Bottles, Players are strongly encouraged to bring a water bottle to every practice and game. Water fountains may not be close to every field.


Helmets, Players are required to wear helmets during practices and games. Helmets are provided through the IC Parks and Rec for players, but these helmets are shared between players. To ensure your child does not have to share, you may provide your own helmet.


Gloves, Players are required to bring gloves to practices and games. Gloves are available through the IC Parks and Rec for players who cannot afford them. Please contact Jeff Sears, 356-5100.
