Get ready for an open water birding extravaganza on Eagle Creek Reservoir. This event will focus on finding and identifying birds from a canoe or kayak. While birding, we might spot Great Blue Herons, Belted Kingfishers, Double Crested Cormorants, Osprey, Eagles and more!
We will meet at the Earth Discovery Center shelter at 10AM and review safety guidelines and open water birding goals. Canoe and kayak launch will occur at the Earth Discovery Center’s dock, which is located down the hill next to the two gray porta-potties.
$25/canoe. Registration is required and limited by canoe availability. The rental canoes seat up to three people and require two people minimum to operate. Max weight is 600lbs. Only one adult (ages 18+) per canoe/group is required to register and pay, but families and groups are encouraged to come together! If you do not have 2 people minimum, please call 317-327-2473 before registering to inquire about single participant availability. The $25 registration cost includes the canoe, 2 oars, personal flotation device (PFD) for each participant (adult and child sizes available), binoculars, and an open water birding guide. The ECP gate fee is also included!
If you would like to bring your own canoe or kayak, please see this option instead: _________________________________
