Summer Camp: Girl Talk - Mentoring Program for Girls

GIRL TALK is a mentoring program that deals with the issues girls face today, focusing on the mind, body and spirit. Through our “Girl Talk” discussion groups and workshops, the young ladies will learn ways to set and attain goals, overcome obstacles, and reaffirm themselves in all of their complexities. With the countless issues our girls face today, many are left with a feeling of helplessness and/or hopelessness as they experience such emotions as loneliness, confusion, or shame, to name a few. Through the “Girl Talk” discussion groups the girls will engage in open dialog and participate in fun, engaging activities that will give them opportunities to express thoughts and feelings pertaining to the topic of discussion—learning how to use their voices to provoke positive changes in their lives by strengthening and refining their self-awareness, self-management, and social and academic efficacy.
