Description
Polish your music skills and discover the rich tradition of Jazz music in this summer offering of our popular school year program, Jazz at The Music Settlement (J@MS). Campers will perform in an ensemble while learning Jazz styles, techniques, improvisation, and musicianship. There will be a wrap up performance on the last day of camp.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner and above. Ability to play major scales and blues scales in the keys of C, F, Bb & Eb.
Wind Players: Exhibit knowledge of fingerings and slide positions
Drummers: Ability to play swing, rock, funk and basic Latin beats
Bassists and Guitarists: Ability to read music
Pianists: Ability to read music and knowledge of chords
