Description
Playing the piano is a foundational skill that is highly recommended for those looking to pursue advanced musical training. If you are passionate about music, considering a career, or want to step up your game, this is the place to start!
In collaboration with Piano Cleveland, this ten-week course will teach students the basics of keyboard technique while increasing their skills in notation, theory, and musical creativity. Topics will include finger technique, reading notation on the grand staff, crossover fingering, scales, and key signatures.
This course is recommended for students who are have some familiarity with music and able to read at least some music on the grand staff. The curriculum does pick up rather quickly, so foundational experience will be beneficial.
Students who do not have access to a piano or keyboard are able to borrow a digital keyboard for free from Piano Cleveland to use while enrolled in this course.
