Description
Have you ever wanted to take a piece of music and make it your own, giving it your own creative spin? Maybe you have wanted to add new chords to a melody or make a piece of music work for different instruments? Learn the basics of music arranging! This online course introduces the music theory behind arranging, harmonizing, and orchestration. We will learn about counterpoint, primary chords, chord progressions, instrument transpositions and their ranges, and more. Throughout the course, we will have arranging exercises and weekly assignments outside of class. We will even arrange a piece of music of our choice. Ages 15 and up - adults welcome. Skill level: intermediate with some music theory experience.
