CE - Musical Theater Vocal Workshop
Event2024: Fall|#MU0705.324
Description
This in-person workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to experience various aspects of performing in musical theater. Participants will experience and become more familiar with auditioning, preparation, staging, vocalization, costuming for impact, acting, and choreography from selected musical theater scenes. Each person will audition for with a solo musical theater song on the first day of class, Tuesday, September 17. Then they will be cast in ensemble scene parts from up to 5 different musicals. All participants will work with a vocal coach, stage director, piano accompanist, and choreographer to put on a show of those scenes. Participants will then perform their scenes with full costume and live accompaniment in up to two live on-stage concerts. This is a judgment-free and relaxed environment where all students are encouraged (regardless of level), and an atmosphere is created that allows all students to embrace their performances with freedom, agility, and meaning.
