Notes
Flamenco dance might be the most famous type of Spanish dance, with roots in Indian, Arabic, and Spanish culture. It is a highly expressive dance characterized by hand clapping, percussive footwork, and intricate hand, arm, and body movements. It is known for its sweeping arm movements and rhythmic feet stomping. The dancers' steps depend on the traditions of the song played. Perhaps the greatest joy of flamenco dancing is watching the personal expressions and emotions of the dancer which change many times during a single performance. The Instructor, Gabriela Reyes has been a professional Flamenco dancer, performer, and choreographer for more than 15 years. She has traveled with her workshops and performances to Venezuela, Aruba, Ecuador, and the U.S.A. Sports shoes and clothing, and hydration is necessary for the first class. Students can acquire the dance shoes, tights, and skirts later.
