Description

Playing chess helps children improve their math skills, develop self-confidence and cultivate patience. The strategies and skills they learned have a long-lasting effect on them.

Beginning/Intermediate. Grades K-5th. Students with no or some experience in chess are welcome to join. They learn basic opening and ending strategies and further learn how to use forks and pins. Instructor: Mr. Grek Powers from G-Powers. 6 classes. No class 11/27, 12/25, and 1/1.

Activity meeting dates

Online registration closes at 8am the day prior to the class start date. For example, if class begins on Tuesday, online registration closes at 8am Monday. To register after online registration has closed (depending on class availability), please call 734-994-2300 x53234.
